The Hannah Set: navy cotton drill pinafore dress and matching toadstool bag

A complete outfit for woodland walks, parties and everything in between. A navy A-line pinafore dress with a turquoise appliqué toadstool, topped with a pink, white and lilac embroidered heart. A ring of pink, lilac and orange flowers runs all the way round the hem. The matching over-the-shoulder bag has its own toadstool and four embroidered flowers, so the whole look comes together. Designed, cut and sewn by me in Nottingham.

The dress: 100% cotton drill in navy, with straps that fasten over the shoulder with a single button on each side. The small white flower print is tucked inside the straps, a little surprise for the wearer. Every dress has either heart or flower buttons, so no two are quite the same.

The bag: cotton drill, lined in the same turquoise cotton as the toadstool, with a turquoise strap to match.

Limited edition: only 7 sets made in this fabric and colourway. Cut from a roll end of rescued cotton drill. When they’re gone, this combination is gone for good.

Room to grow: generously cut across the chest, so the dress fits comfortably for longer. As your child gets taller, wear it over leggings. My own daughters wore theirs for between two and three years.

Care: Machine wash inside out at 30/40°C with similar colours. Iron on a medium to hot setting, and never directly on the front of the embroidery (iron on the reverse instead). The bag can be washed the same way.
